Our winemakers

Evil domain (Domaine des Diables)

The story begins in 1979 with Virginie’s father’s creation of a vineyard in the scree, at the foot of Cézanne’s Mont Sainte-Victoire, in Puyloubier. In June 2005, the young generation , joined Virginie’s father on his estate and straight away began to implement what they had been taught while adding their own personal touch.

They created the Made in Provence concept, and developed original and tasteful packaging for worthy wines. Their first task was to target a young and trendy clientele.

Rousset winery

It is located to the east of the city of Aix-en-Provence, on the southern flank of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire.

The Sainte Victoire vineyard has very specific geo-climatic characteristics: it is planted on poor, well-drained soils, very suitable for growing vines, which are made up of limestone and clayey sandstone. This unique terroir, where vines have been cultivated since Antiquity, exerts a profound influence on the wines produced there. The members are spread over two departments.

Located in the heart of the Palette wine area, the vineyard, overhung by the Sainte-Victoire mountain, offers an outstanding view.

Stéphane SPITZGLOUS representing the third generation of his family was born on the estate. Brough up by his grandfather, he used to spend entire days with him on the tractor. In 1996, Henri Bonnaud finally agreed to let his grand-son take the Estate. Stéphane produced his first vintage in 2004. In tribute to his grandfather, who died in 2001, he decided to name it « Château Henri Bonnaud ».

This family-run Estate is classified on: AOC Palette, AOC Côtes de Provence and AOC Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire, complemented by IGP Méditerrannée.

The whole vineyard is organic and covers an area of thirty hectares, 14 of them labeled AOC Palette.

Dominique Gentile is one of those avant-garde men who nevertheless respect the lessons of the past. His wife supports him, second him perfectly and admirably in this magnificent undertaking. Their son, Jean-Paul Gentile, winegrower oenologist, joined them in 1994.
